Atlanta-based private equity firm Crown Capital Investments has acquired Nova Marketing, LLC, a St. Louis-headquartered warehousing, kitting and fulfillment provider. Crown said the deal adds a central U.S. operation to its national warehousing, kitting and fulfillment network and creates synergies with its distribution solutions portfolio.

CenterGate Capital, an Austin-based private equity firm, announced an investment in JRTech Solutions, a Montreal-headquartered provider of electronic shelf labels (ESL) and robotic inventory management technology for North American retailers. JRTech’s CEO Diego Mazzone will remain in place as the company partners with CenterGate to accelerate product innovation and expand service capabilities across grocery, pharmacy and hardware retail end markets.

CI Financial Acquires Majority Interest in RGT Wealth Advisors

CI Financial Corp. will acquire a majority ownership stake in RGT Wealth Advisors, a Dallas-based registered investment advisor with approximately US$4.7 billion in client assets, in a deal to be paid in cash and CI shares. The transaction, expected to close in Q4 2020 subject to regulatory and stock exchange approvals, expands CI's U.S. wealth footprint (bringing U.S. wealth assets to ~US$21 billion) while RGT principals will retain a meaningful ownership stake.

Wealth Enhancement Group, a Minneapolis-based independent wealth management firm overseeing roughly $19.4 billion in client assets, has acquired CJM Wealth Management, a Deer Park, New York registered investment adviser with about $440–446 million in client assets. The deal (closed Sept. 1, 2020) expands Wealth Enhancement Group’s presence in the New York metro (its third NY location and fifth in the Tri-State area); financial terms were not disclosed.

Atlanta-based private investment firm Crown Capital (CCI) has acquired Ace-Tex Enterprises, Inc., a Detroit-headquartered manufacturer and distributor of wiping cloths and industrial wipers. The family-owned business, established in 1946 with operations in the U.S. and Canada and customers including Fortune 500 automotive firms, will join Crown’s portfolio to support growth and leverage synergies with other portfolio companies.
