The acquisition strengthens Saint-Gobain's exterior solutions in Canada by adding roofing and wood-fiber insulation capabilities and expands its leadership in light and sustainable construction in the Canadian market.

Saint-Gobain, through its North American building-products subsidiary CertainTeed LLC, has acquired Vi-Lux Building Products, a Canadian custom manufacturer of cellular PVC trim and millwork based in Napanee, Ontario. The deal adds specialty PVC molding and trim capacity to Saint-Gobain's siding and millwork offering; Vi-Lux’s 49 plant employees will become part of Saint-Gobain/CertainTeed.

SEI Group Acquires Sacramento Insulation, Inc.

SEI Group LLC, a Quad‑C Management‑backed installer of insulation and specialty building products, has acquired Sacramento Insulation, Inc., a Sacramento, California installer of fiberglass, spray foam and other insulation products. The add‑on expands SEI's footprint into California and bolsters its presence in single‑family, multi‑family and light commercial new construction markets; terms were not disclosed.

American Industrial Partners Acquires Global Cellulose Fibers from International Paper

American Industrial Partners (AIP) has completed the $1.5 billion acquisition of International Paper's Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF) business, with part of the consideration issued as preferred stock carrying a $190 million initial liquidation preference. GCF, headquartered in Memphis, Tennessee, will operate as an independent company and reported approximately $2.3 billion in 2024 revenue with about 3,300 employees and nine manufacturing facilities across the U.S., Canada, and Poland.

SMC Global Acquires International Chemicals LLC

Saint-Gobain to acquire Chryso from Cinven

Saint-Gobain has agreed to acquire Chryso, a global specialist in construction chemicals, from private equity firm Cinven. Headquartered in France, Chryso operates 35 industrial sites and five R&D centres, employs about 1,300 people and serves customers across more than 100 countries; the transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2021 subject to customary approvals.
