Eurofins Scientific Acquires Beacon Discovery

Eurofins Scientific has agreed to acquire Beacon Discovery, a San Diego–based drug discovery CRO specializing in GPCR research and compound libraries. The acquisition expands Eurofins Discovery’s integrated drug discovery capabilities, adding GPCR expertise and proprietary compound resources to support pharmaceutical and biotech clients. The transaction is expected to close in the coming weeks subject to customary conditions.

The acquisition will integrate BioDiscovery's platform-agnostic analysis and reporting tools with Bionano's optical genome mapping technology to accelerate variant analysis and broaden Bionano's market reach; BioDiscovery founder Soheil Shams will join Bionano as Chief Informatics Officer.
