ITV Studios Acquires Majority Stake in Hartswood Films

ITV Studios has acquired a majority stake in Hartswood Films, the long-established UK scripted production company behind series such as Sherlock, The Devil's Hour and Douglas Is Cancelled. Hartswood — based in London and Cardiff and led by Sue Vertue and Steven Moffat — will have its future international distribution handled by ITV Studios as part of ITV's strategy to expand its international content business.

Shout! Studios has acquired independent distributor Gravitas Ventures, adding more than 3,300 film and television titles to its catalogue while operating both companies as distinct brands. The deal — which involved Shout! Studios’ backer Oaktree Capital Management and the former owner Anthem Sports & Entertainment — was announced with financial terms undisclosed and positions Shout! to expand its multi-platform distribution and FAST/channel offerings.
