Forward Air Corporation agreed to acquire the assets of Proficient Transport Incorporated and Proficient Trucking, Inc. for $15 million to expand its intermodal drayage footprint. The Chicago-headquartered Proficient Transport generates approximately $23 million in annual revenue, operates with 32 employees and ~130 independent contractors, and the deal is expected to close in February 2021.

Proficient Auto Logistics (NASDAQ: PAL) has acquired Brothers Auto Transport, LLC, a Wind Gap, Pennsylvania-based vehicle carrier founded in 1996. The deal expands PAL's fleet capacity by approximately 13%, adds experienced drivers and OEM partnerships, and strengthens PAL's presence in key northeastern U.S. markets.

The deal is an add-on to OnLine’s expanding platform—its sixth acquisition since 2019—adding truckload capacity, warehousing and brokerage capabilities and new shipper relationships.
