Bluewater Sells Apex International Energy to United Energy (MENA) / United Energy Group

Bluewater has signed an agreement to sell Houston-headquartered Apex International Energy to United Energy (MENA) Limited, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-listed United Energy Group Limited, subject to governmental approvals. Under Bluewater's six-year ownership Apex grew into a top-ten producer in Egypt (averaging >11,000 boe/d in 2024); the transaction represents a PE exit and expands United Energy Group's upstream asset base in Egypt and the wider MENA region.

Apex International Energy acquired interests in six oil and gas concessions in Egypt's Western Desert from IEOC Production B.V., a unit of Eni S.p.A., and will operate most of the assets through the PetroFarah joint venture with EGPC. The deal expands Apex's working interest acreage to about 1.0 million acres and is expected to raise combined production toward ~11,500 barrels per day while providing access to strategic pipeline and infrastructure used by Apex's SEM operations.

Macquarie Asset Management to Acquire 90% Stake in Apex Energies Group

Macquarie Asset Management, via its Macquarie Green Investment Group Renewable Energy Fund 2, has entered exclusive negotiations to acquire a 90% equity interest in French solar developer and operator Apex Energies Group from a consortium of investors. Apex, which develops, builds and operates rooftop and ground-mounted solar projects across France and also provides energy-efficiency and monitoring services through subsidiaries ORA and S4E, will support Macquarie’s expansion of its renewable energy platform in France.

CNX Resources Acquires Apex Energy II Upstream and Midstream Business

CNX Resources Corporation closed the acquisition of the natural gas upstream and associated midstream business of Apex Energy II, LLC, a portfolio company of funds managed by Carnelian Energy Capital Management, for approximately $505 million (effective Oct. 1, 2024). The bolt-on expands CNX's Marcellus and Utica leasehold in the Appalachian Basin (~36,000 net acres, including significant undeveloped Utica and Marcellus acreage) and adds existing midstream infrastructure expected to be immediately accretive to free cash flow.

Nesma & Partners Acquires Global Engineering Firm Kent from Bluewater

Saudi Arabian contractor Nesma & Partners has agreed to acquire Kent, a Dubai-headquartered global energy engineering and project-management firm, from climate-focused PE firm Bluewater. The deal (terms undisclosed) completes Bluewater's multi-year value-creation plan that grew Kent to about $1.4bn in revenue and positions Nesma to expand its engineering capabilities and international footprint in conventional and low-carbon energy markets.
