Dental Acquisitions in North Carolina

MB2 Dental, a Dallas-based dental partnership organization and portfolio company of Charlesbank Capital Partners and Warburg Pincus, has partnered with A Beautiful Smile, a family dental practice led by Dr. Gina Mancini in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The transaction brings the single-location practice into MB2 Dental’s platform as an add-on to expand its network and local patient services.

Boston-based private equity firm Riverside Partners completed a growth investment in Net32, a Cary, North Carolina-based online marketplace for dental supplies. The partnership will provide capital and resources to support Net32's product innovation, vendor growth, and continued expansion of its marketplace for dental practices.

Young Innovations, a portfolio company of TJC, announced the acquisition of Salvin Dental Specialties, a Charlotte-based supplier of regenerative biomaterials, surgical instrumentation and implant dentistry supplies. The deal will integrate Salvin's product portfolio and clinical support into Young Innovations’ global dental platform to expand its oral surgery and implant-agnostic offering.

Smile Doctors, a PE-backed orthodontic support organization, has acquired Grinz Orthodontics. The deal adds Grinz's practices in North Carolina and Arizona to Smile Doctors' network; Smile Doctors is a portfolio company of Linden Capital Partners and Thomas H. Lee Partners.

Oakpoint, a Longshore Capital Partners-backed dental support organization, completed six new practice affiliations — including Nu Image Surgical & Dental Implant Center, Lockhart Dental, Brown & Neuwirth Oral and Cosmetic Surgery Center, Royal Oak Dental Group and Cary Prosthodontics, Wendell Family Dentistry, and Wake Forest Endodontics and Crabtree Endodontics — bringing its total to 10 affiliated practices across 32 locations in North and South Carolina. The transactions are add-on affiliations to Oakpoint’s multi-specialty DSO platform as it pursues geographic expansion in the Carolinas.

Light Wave Dental Management, backed by private equity firm Alpine Investors, announced a long-term management affiliation with Triangle Family Dentistry, a six-location dental group in Raleigh, North Carolina. The deal expands Light Wave's Mid-Atlantic footprint and provides Triangle with capital and management support to accelerate growth and open additional offices.

Light Wave Dental Management formed a long-term management arrangement with CarolinasDentist, a Fayetteville, North Carolina-based dental group with seven locations, marking Light Wave's entry into North Carolina. The affiliation is backed by private equity firm Alpine Investors, with financing support from Tree Line Capital Partners and Monroe Capital.
