Acquisitions in Galway, Ireland

Haemonetics Corporation has acquired Galway-based Vivasure Medical in a transaction valued at up to €185 million, consisting of an upfront €100 million payment plus up to €85 million in contingent milestone payments. The acquisition adds Vivasure's PerQseal Elite fully bioabsorbable vascular closure system to Haemonetics' large-bore closure portfolio; Vivasure has CE Mark approvals and has submitted a PMA to the U.S. FDA.

SharpenCX, a TELEO Capital-backed unified contact center platform, has acquired Webtext, an omnichannel messaging/CPaaS provider based in Galway, Ireland. The deal expands Sharpen's messaging and on‑premises contact center capabilities to deliver omnichannel engagement (messaging, webchat, social) and accelerate customers' digital transformation.

Nostra, an Irish-owned managed services provider headquartered in Dublin, has acquired Galway-based Passax Business Systems to expand its presence in the west of Ireland and add telecoms/PBX expertise. The deal doubles Nostra’s employee base in the west and brings the combined headcount to 270; Nostra will relocate its Galway regional office to a new facility in Ballybrit.

Tesco Ireland has agreed to acquire ten Joyce's Supermarkets retail stores in County Galway, subject to approval by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC). The Joyce family will sell the stores while retaining other business interests; the stores will be rebranded as Tesco and Joyce's employees will be transitioned to Tesco Ireland roles.
