Syntax Systems, a Novacap portfolio company, has acquired Argon Supply Chain Solutions, a UK- and South Africa-based SAP Gold Partner that specializes in warehouse management and supply chain optimization. The add-on strengthens Syntax's SAP Digital Supply Chain and logistics-execution capabilities and expands its services across retail, manufacturing, wholesale/distribution and life sciences verticals.

An Alterra Capital Partners-led consortium, alongside Mineworkers Investment Company (MIC) and Admaius Capital Partners, has agreed to acquire a majority stake in South African beverage maker Chill Beverages from Old Mutual Private Equity. The deal — the first investment by Alterra's Africa Accelerator Fund — will be supported with debt financing from Standard Bank and RMB and aims to accelerate Chill's marketing, Gauteng distribution and new product development while driving transformation within the business.

AgroFresh Solutions Inc., a Paine Schwartz Partners portfolio company, completed its acquisition of Tessara. The deal expands AgroFresh’s post-harvest freshness and quality solutions into table grapes and berries by adding Tessara’s SO2-generating packaging sheets, following clearance by South African competition authorities.

Lumine Group, a communications and media software platform owned by Volaris Group, has acquired VAS-X (Pty) Ltd (entities in South Africa and Australia). VAS-X provides OSS/BSS billing, customer management, real-time recharge and credit management solutions to mobile operators and MVNEs; the company will continue to operate autonomously as part of Lumine's communications software portfolio.

Actis Capital has acquired South African independent power producer BioTherm Energy from Denham Capital for an undisclosed sum. The deal transfers a portfolio of wind and solar projects (over 500 MW across operational and development stages) to Actis as it expands its renewables footprint in Africa; Jasandra Nyker, formerly BioTherm CEO, will join Denham Capital in a senior role following the exit.

Garmin Ltd. acquired the assets of iKubu (Pty) Ltd., a Stellenbosch-based developer of the Backtracker low-energy bike radar and related computer-vision/radar technology. Most former iKubu employees will join Garmin's South Africa subsidiary to continue R&D in Stellenbosch; financial terms were not disclosed.
