Mubadala Capital has taken a majority shareholding in Witherslack Group, the UK specialist education and care operator for children with special educational needs, in a deal done alongside Charme Capital Partners and the Group’s management team. Existing investors Charme Capital Partners and Livingbridge remain minority shareholders; the investment is intended to support Witherslack’s continued development and geographic expansion in the UK and into the Middle East.

Galanthus Partners, an investment partnership, has acquired UK-based BPD Zenith, a global enterprise asset management cloud provider and IBM Maximo partner. The acquisition is intended to allow BPD Zenith to invest in its team and product roadmap to support continued organic and inorganic growth and further develop its cloud-based asset management and predictive analytics offerings.

Leeds-based investor Comhar Capital has completed a £4.25 million minority equity investment in The Lakes Distillery to support capital investment and international growth. The funding will be used to expand production capacity at the Setmurthy distillery and visitor centre, triple output capacity and accelerate The Lakes' sales in the UK and overseas.

Chester-based Sykes Holiday Cottages has acquired Pure Cottages Group from private equity investor LDC for an undisclosed sum. The deal brings the Pure Cottages portfolio — a collection of five luxury regional holiday rental brands managing more than 1,500 holiday homes across Cumbria, Cornwall and the Cotswolds — into Sykes' wider network to bolster its premium offering and support further UK and international expansion.
