Infrastructure Acquisitions in Colorado

Green Heron Partners formed Bison Infrastructure Services, a new platform focused on support services for water, utility, and civil infrastructure, and completed acquisitions of QP Services and Iron Woman Logistics Services from Iron Woman Partners. Shaun Egan and Steve Burns (founders of Iron Woman) will serve as Co-Executive Chairmen of Bison and retain a significant ownership stake as Green Heron supports platform growth and regional expansion.

Flexential, a US data center and digital infrastructure provider, has received a strategic common-equity investment from Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners (MSIP), which will partner as a co-control investor alongside existing investor GI Partners to provide primary capital to accelerate expansion. The capital will fund growth of Flexential's FlexAnywhere platform, active development of its national data center footprint, and support demand from enterprise, cloud and AI workloads. The transaction is expected to close in Q4 2024 subject to regulatory approvals.

Obayashi Corporation has acquired MWH, a U.S.-based water infrastructure contractor that operates MWH Constructors and subsidiaries Slayden Constructors and Methuen Construction. The acquisition positions Obayashi to expand its U.S. water infrastructure and industrial manufacturing capabilities and market share, enabling collaboration with Obayashi’s North American operations including Webcor Builders and Kraemer North America.

Vantage Data Centers announced a $6.4 billion equity investment led by investment vehicles managed by DigitalBridge and Silver Lake to accelerate expansion across North America and EMEA. The capital — incremental to a recently announced €1.5 billion EMEA commitment from AustralianSuper — will fund development of hyperscale, energy-efficient data center capacity to meet rising cloud and AI demand; the transactions are expected to close in Q1 2024.

Lumin8 Transportation Technologies, a portfolio company of Crest Rock Partners, has acquired Lightspeed Integrated Communications, a Castle Rock, Colorado-based fiber optic infrastructure services provider. The deal expands Lumin8's fiber optic installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance capabilities to support ITS and broadband projects and broadens its service footprint across the U.S.

Edgewater Growth Capital Partners IV invested in DataBank to fund DataBank's acquisition of zColo Data Centers from Zayo Group Holdings, adding 44 data centers across 23 U.S. and European markets. The deal expands DataBank's footprint to a national scale—bringing the company to 64 data centers in 29 markets and strengthening its edge colocation, connectivity and managed services capabilities.
