Renewable Energy Acquisitions in New Jersey

The Awareness Group (TAG), trading as Freedom Holdings (FHLD), announced the acquisition of Renewable Energy Products Manufacturing Corp. (REPM), a commercial solar energy solutions provider headquartered in Collingswood, New Jersey. The deal is intended to integrate REPM into TAG's TAG GRID platform to accelerate TAG's commercial solar capabilities, expand its market footprint across 16 states and leverage REPM's technology, installation experience and existing project pipeline.

EQT Transition Infrastructure has agreed to acquire Scale Microgrids, a vertically integrated developer, owner and operator of microgrids and distributed energy assets, from Warburg Pincus and other existing shareholders. Headquartered in Ridgewood, New Jersey, Scale operates roughly 250 MW of assets with a ~2.5 GW near-term pipeline; EQT said it will invest to scale commercial processes, software and project execution to accelerate growth in distributed generation and resilience offerings.

Aggreko Energy Transition Solutions (ETS), a division of Aggreko, has acquired Infiniti Energy, a U.S.-based commercial and industrial solar developer and IPP, from Upper Bay Infrastructure Partners. The deal adds 12 MW of contracted operating solar assets, 22 MW of construction-ready projects and an additional pipeline to Aggreko ETS, strengthening its distributed solar EPC capabilities and East Coast presence.

Igneo Infrastructure Partners has agreed to acquire a majority equity interest in Soltage, a Jersey City–based developer, owner and operator of distributed solar and storage assets across 18 U.S. states. The investment will support Soltage's transition to a full independent power producer (IPP) model and the buildout of its 1.9 GW pipeline; terms were not disclosed and the deal is expected to close in 2023.

TSG Consumer Partners has made a growth investment in Trinity Solar, a leading residential solar, battery storage and EV charging provider based in Wall, New Jersey. Trinity’s management team will remain in place as the company uses the capital and TSG’s consumer and digital expertise to support continued geographic and service expansion across the Northeast U.S.

Denham Capital, via its Sustainable Infrastructure business, has acquired Solops, a U.S. developer, financier, and owner/operator of commercial and industrial photovoltaic projects, with an initial $200 million commitment to execute Solops' 800+ MW project pipeline. Denham intends to support a buy-and-build growth plan, positioning Solops as an independent power producer (IPP) to accelerate deployment of distributed generation solar across the United States.

424 Capital has completed the acquisition of QE Solar, a Cranford, New Jersey-based provider of operations and maintenance (O&M) services for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale solar and battery energy storage systems. The investment will provide capital to support QE Solar's nationwide workforce growth and expand its capabilities in solar and battery storage services; QE Solar employs over 80 field technicians and engineers and services more than 2.0 GW of C&I solar installations.
