Staffing & HR Acquisitions in Minnesota

Accurate Background, a privately held global provider of background checks and workforce monitoring solutions, has acquired Orange Tree Employment Screening from Tonka Bay Equity Partners. The deal expands Accurate's screening capabilities and service coverage—including in healthcare—and strengthens its position in the employment background screening market. Financial terms were not disclosed.

S.i. Systems ULC has acquired Minneapolis-based Elign Consulting to expand its U.S. footprint and broaden its tech-enabled staffing and workforce solutions capabilities. Elign will remain headquartered in Minneapolis with founder and CEO Linh Cravens continuing to lead the business as part of the S.i. Systems organization; terms were not disclosed.

Korn Ferry has entered a definitive agreement to acquire Salo, LLC, a Minneapolis-based provider of interim finance, accounting and HR talent. The acquisition expands Korn Ferry’s interim professional solutions and contract staffing capabilities and is expected to close on February 1, 2023, subject to customary conditions.

Cielo, a global recruitment process outsourcing (RPO) provider, has acquired Peridus Group, a boutique HR technology consulting firm that specializes in Workday implementations, HR strategy, integrations and data migration. Peridus founder Caleb Fullhart and other members of the Peridus team will join Cielo’s Technology Consulting practice to expand Cielo’s HR technology and consulting capabilities.

Iron Creek Partners led a recapitalization of Verified Credentials, Inc., joined by Verified's management team and Main Street Capital Corporation, closing in November 2021. The transaction provided growth capital to support Verified's technology advancement and product expansion; financial terms were not disclosed and CEO Kevin Spang remains in place and will join the board.

Tonka Bay Equity Partners has acquired Orange Tree Employment Screening, a Minneapolis-based technology-enabled provider of background screening services. The investment will partner with Orange Tree's management to accelerate market penetration and expand its business services offering.

Triage Medical Staffing, an Omaha-based national medical staffing agency, has acquired Aspen Medical Staffing, a St. Cloud, Minnesota firm that places rehabilitation therapists in travel, contract and permanent roles. The deal expands Triage's rehab and travel therapy capabilities and adds Aspen's experienced recruiting team to support first-time and traveling therapists nationwide.

DIVERSANT, a Red Bank-based IT staffing firm, has acquired Alliance of Computer Professionals (ACP), a Minneapolis-based IT staffing company. The acquisition expands DIVERSANT’s footprint into the Minneapolis and Atlanta markets and aims to broaden service offerings and career opportunities for ACP consultants and employees.

SE Capital Partners, in partnership with single-family office Berggruen Holdings, has acquired TLC Companies, a Brooklyn Center, Minnesota-based provider of outsourced HR services to the transportation industry. The seller was High Street Capital (with co-investors Cohesive Capital Partners, Marquette Capital Partners and Merion Investment Partners); the transaction represents a change-of-control buyout to support a platform build in the niche PEO/payroll market.

Kelly Services has acquired Teachers On Call, a Bloomington, Minnesota-based provider of substitute teacher and early childhood staffing services. The acquisition (terms undisclosed) expands Kelly's K‑12 education staffing footprint and Teachers On Call will continue to operate under its own brand with existing staff.
