Blue Yonder has acquired Optoro, a U.S.-based returns management technology provider, to strengthen and extend its end-to-end returns management capabilities across warehouse and in-store processes. The deal integrates Optoro's recommerce and dispositioning technology into Blue Yonder's AI-driven supply chain platform to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and expand offerings for retailers, brands and logistics service providers.
Blue Yonder, through its subsidiary Doddle Inc., has purchased the remaining 51% stake in Inmar Post-Purchase Solutions (IPPS) from Inmar, Inc., bringing IPPS under full Blue Yonder ownership and renaming the entity Blue Yonder Reverse Retail Operations LLC. The move secures control of IPPS’s returns network (which supports FedEx Easy Returns at ~3,000 U.S. drop-off locations) and integrates it with Blue Yonder’s Returns Management solution to enhance retailer returns visibility, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
Panasonic Corporation agreed to acquire the remaining 80% stake in Blue Yonder from New Mountain Capital and funds managed by Blackstone for USD5.6 billion (USD7.1 billion including repayment of outstanding debt), valuing Blue Yonder at USD8.5 billion. The acquisition brings Blue Yonder fully into Panasonic to combine Blue Yonder's AI/ML-driven, cloud-based Luminate supply chain platform with Panasonic's IoT, edge and industrial engineering capabilities to accelerate an "Autonomous Supply Chain" strategy.
Blue Yonder has acquired Doddle, a London‑based first‑ and last‑mile technology business that provides returns management, PUDO networks and self‑service kiosks. The deal adds reverse logistics and returns capabilities to Blue Yonder's WMS, OMS and TMS suite, extending its end‑to‑end supply chain offering for retailers, carriers and logistics providers.
