Luxembourg-based investment firm LetterOne has made a significant growth investment in Dayim Middle East Holding Company (DMEH), a Saudi equipment and truck logistics & leasing group, to fund DMEH’s continued growth across Saudi Arabia and the broader GCC. The capital supports DMEH’s expansion across end markets such as oil & gas, infrastructure and logistics while helping LetterOne establish a longer-term presence in the region.
Harbour Energy has acquired the majority of Wintershall Dea's upstream business for $11.2 billion in a transfer completed by BASF and L1 (LetterOne). As part of the transaction, L1 received a 14.87% preference shareholding in Harbour, making it a minority shareholder while Harbour expands its upstream E&P portfolio.
LetterOne, via its new energy arm L1 New Energy, has made an equity investment in Plastic Energy to accelerate the chemical recycling company’s growth and global plant rollout. The funding will support expansion beyond Plastic Energy’s two operational plants in Spain — including a plant under construction in the Netherlands and developments in France — and helps explore a potential UK facility with Nestlé.
L1 Health and Blantyre Capital have acquired European pharmaceutical businesses Remedica (Cyprus) and Sun Wave Pharma (Romania) as part of a debt-for-assets restructuring with Johannesburg-listed Ascendis Health; the deal closed on October 21. Remedica is a generics manufacturer with production and distribution across 160 countries, while Sun Wave Pharma is a leading nutraceuticals/nutritional-products provider in Eastern Europe.
