Payward signed a definitive agreement to acquire Saldo Finance Oy, the Finnish holding company whose subsidiary is Saldo Bank UAB, a Lithuania-licensed specialized bank operating across several European markets. The acquisition would add an EU banking license and expand Payward Banking’s European deposit, lending, card issuance, SEPA payments, and banking-as-a-service capabilities; closing is expected in 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary conditions.
Payward, Inc. (Kraken’s parent) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Reap Technologies Holdings Limited, a stablecoin-native card issuing and payments infrastructure company, for up to $600 million in cash and Payward stock. The deal expands Payward Services—its B2B financial infrastructure platform—into the global cards and stablecoin payments space, with Reap to continue operating as a standalone platform within Payward’s ecosystem.
Payward entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Bitnomial for up to $550 million in cash and stock, valuing Payward’s equity at about $20 billion. The deal combines Bitnomial’s fully CFTC-licensed U.S. derivatives infrastructure (exchange, clearinghouse, and brokerage) with Payward’s global distribution across Kraken and NinjaTrader, enabling regulated spot margin, perpetuals, and options for eligible U.S. clients.
