Veolia announced the acquisition of Enviropacific, a major Australian soil remediation and hazardous waste treatment player, for an enterprise value of about AUD 220 million. The deal is intended to strengthen Veolia’s capabilities and geographic expansion in PFAS treatment and complex contaminated site remediation across Australia.
Veolia Environnement entered into an agreement to acquire Clean Earth, a major U.S. hazardous waste platform, for an enterprise value of about $3 billion (around €2.6 billion). The deal is intended to roughly double Veolia’s U.S. hazardous waste footprint and establish a stronger national treatment and disposal network across fast-growing industries, with $120 million in expected synergies by year four.
Veolia (via its Veolia North America unit) announced the acquisition of three U.S. hazardous-waste companies—New England Disposal Technologies, New England MedWaste and Ingenium—alongside additional tuck-ins in Japan (Zeeklite Co. LTD) and Brazil (Alagoas Ambiental). The deals form part of a broader GreenUp strategy to add 530,000 tonnes of hazardous waste treatment capacity by 2030 (100,000 tonnes already in operation) and represent roughly €300 million of targeted acquisitions to expand regional coverage and technical capabilities.
Veolia, through its consulting engineering division Seureca, has acquired MRC Consultants & Transaction Advisers, an energy consulting firm with operations in Spain and the United Kingdom active across more than 30 countries. The deal strengthens Seureca's energy capabilities — adding expertise in decarbonization, energy planning, system design, project structuring and financing — and brings Seureca's energy division to a workforce of over 70 people.
Veolia North America has completed the acquisition of U.S. Industrial Technologies (USIT), a Michigan-based provider of hazardous, non-hazardous and recyclable industrial waste management services. The deal adds USIT's main operations in Livonia, Michigan and an operation in Knoxville, Tennessee, bringing more than 70 employees into Veolia's Environmental Solutions and Services division and expanding its hazardous waste treatment capacity and U.S. market share.
Veolia North America, through its energy subsidiary SourceOne Inc., has acquired Boston-based Energenix, a meter-reading and billing services provider serving Eastern Massachusetts. The deal expands SourceOne's metering and energy-management capabilities and makes Veolia North America a leading meter services provider in the Greater Boston area.
