Weathermatic, a Garland, Texas-based provider of smart irrigation controllers, cloud software (SmartLink), and field services, received a minority growth investment led by Rock Hill Capital with co-investment from True West Capital Partners. The capital will be used to accelerate product innovation, expand software capabilities and customer success resources, and support the company’s growth in water-management and irrigation solutions for landscape professionals and property/asset managers.

Nutrition 101, LLC, a Pendleton, Indiana-based food waste and recycling company, has acquired Value Feeds, a Dallas-based dairy upcycling and animal feed company. The acquisition will expand Nutrition 101's presence into the U.S. Southwest and leverage Value Feeds' processing capabilities and regional supply contracts with dairy producers.

Chicago-based private equity firm Granite Creek Capital Partners has invested in Global Animal Products (GAP) to support a management buyout and recapitalize the Amarillo, Texas-based feed-additives manufacturer. Founder Ken Ridenour will step back and retain a minority stake, while CEO Ben Tarr and the management team will continue to run the business with strategic support from Granite Creek and Operating Partner Mike Ray to scale product development, expand facilities, and pursue international growth.

Super-Sod (Patten Seed Company) acquired Tri-Tex Grass, a Granbury, Texas-based turfgrass grower, in a transaction completed November 14, 2024. The deal expands Super-Sod’s distribution and farming footprint into Texas; Tri-Tex operations and leadership (Mike Pender and Mark Graf) will transition to operate under the Super-Sod brand.

Jones Capital, a family-owned investment firm, has completed a strategic growth investment in Alta Arbor, an investment holding company focused on horticulture businesses. The partnership will shift Alta Arbor from a dividend-driven approach to a growth-oriented strategy, leveraging Jones Capital's operational resources and expertise to accelerate expansion across the green industry value chain.

Frisco-based agricultural software provider Ever.Ag has acquired Austin Data Labs, a U.S.-based AI and data-science SaaS firm, to strengthen Ever.Ag's data and AI capabilities across the food supply chain. The deal brings Austin Data Labs' machine-learning and analytics expertise into Ever.Ag's platform to accelerate end-to-end visibility and data-driven solutions across crops, dairy, livestock and food & beverage sectors.

Blue Road Capital, an investment firm focused on vertically integrated food and agriculture businesses, has acquired NatureSweet (NS Brands, Ltd.), the largest vertically integrated greenhouse-grown produce company in North America, from Silver Ventures for an undisclosed sum. NatureSweet grows, harvests, and packages tomatoes, peppers, and cucumbers across more than 1,400 acres and employs over 6,000 people, with products sold through major supermarkets across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

Alta Arbor Holdings has acquired Casa Flora Inc., a Dallas-based propagator of fern and foliage liners known for tissue culture propagation and wholesale liner production. The acquisition expands Alta Arbor's propagation and greenhouse capabilities to better serve commercial growers across the United States and Canada while Casa Flora will continue operating under its existing name and leadership.

Alta Arbor Holdings has acquired Plant Odyssey, a Texas-based grower of finished plants operating a 40-acre facility in Kyle, Texas. Plant Odyssey — founded in 1979 and a supplier to several Texas grocers — will continue to operate under its existing name and leadership as Alta Arbor expands its horticulture portfolio in the state.

Corteva, Inc. signed a definitive agreement to acquire Houston-based Stoller Group, a leading independent biologicals and plant-health company with operations in more than 60 countries and forecasted 2022 revenues of over $400 million. Corteva will pay $1.2 billion in cash (≈12x expected 2022 EBITDA); the deal is expected to close in the first half of 2023 and is intended to accelerate and expand Corteva’s Biologicals capabilities and commercial reach.

Legacy Agripartners has acquired Northern Agri Brands, LLC, including the TriCal Superior Forage brand, expanding its seed portfolio and breeding capabilities. The deal brings TriCal’s triticale breeding program and research footprint — including a significant operation in Vernon, Texas and thousands of test plots across North America — into Legacy’s network to better serve dairy and beef producers.

Ever.Ag has acquired Agrestic Research, bringing the company's crop-insurance seasonal analysis and livestock risk-management tools in-house. Agrestic Research owner Stephen Hardison will join Ever.Ag as Director of Livestock to support and grow Ever.Ag’s livestock risk management capabilities.

Alta Arbor Holdings, a Dallas-based horticulture-focused investment holding company, has acquired Joss Growers, a wholesale grower serving professional landscapers and distributors across Texas. Joss Growers will continue to operate independently under its existing leadership while Alta Arbor supports growth and strengthens its horticulture platform in key Texas markets.

Dairy.com, ever.ag and EFC Systems combined their businesses to form EverAg, a unified agribusiness company providing supply chain, agronomy, and risk management solutions for dairy, livestock, crops and broader agribusiness. The integrated company is headquartered in Texas and employs approximately 450 people across seven global locations, supporting hundreds of customers and over 200,000 farms.

MedX Holdings Inc. (OTC: MEDH) has acquired Craft Herbs LLC, a Texas limited liability company licensed to cultivate and process hemp in South Texas. Craft Herbs operates three facilities (San Antonio lab/kitchen, a 5-acre farm in New Braunfels, and an 86-acre lease near Laredo) and produces hemp products including fiber, feed, biomass and CBD; MEDH says the deal advances its vertical integration and capacity for hemp and cannabis products.

Dairy.com has acquired ever.ag to combine AgTech software, commodity brokerage, crop insurance and risk-management capabilities, creating an expanded provider for dairy, grain and livestock customers. The acquisition adds ever.ag team members and technology (including Vault farm software) to Dairy.com's My Dairy Dashboard and Blimling services, increasing the combined organization to over 200 employees across seven global locations.

All States Ag Parts (ASAP), a portfolio company of Kinderhook Industries, has acquired Hoye Tractor Parts, an online-focused distributor of new aftermarket and used Yanmar tractor parts based in Iowa Park, Texas. The add-on expands ASAP's aftermarket parts catalog (adding over 200,000 Yanmar parts), online presence and geographic footprint into North Texas; financing for the transaction was provided by Maranon Capital.
