Automotive Acquisitions in Maryland

AutoNation, Inc. acquired Jerry's Toyota from Jerry's Automotive Group, effective December 8, 2025. The dealership — renamed AutoNation Toyota White Marsh — represents roughly $123 million in annual revenue, about 2,600 annual retail unit sales and adds approximately 110 associates, strengthening AutoNation's footprint in the Mid-Atlantic and marking its first Toyota store in Maryland.

Joe Hudson's Collision Center (JHCC) acquired Cliff's Hi-Tech Body Shop in Essex, Maryland, marking JHCC's 250th location. The acquisition is part of JHCC’s ongoing geographic expansion and comes alongside the opening of two new greenfield locations in Georgia.

Sheehy Auto Stores has purchased Bill Kidd's Timonium Toyota (Timonium, MD) and Bill Kidd's Volvo Cars (Hunt Valley, MD) from the families of Charlie and Peter Fenwick and Bill Kidd (with Lisa Kidd). The acquisition expands Sheehy's Mid-Atlantic footprint and brings a Toyota store (approx. 1,500 new cars/year) and a Volvo franchise into its dealer group as the dealerships will be rebranded and operated under Sheehy.

Xcite Automotive has acquired Pinnacle Automotive, including its Diamond Dealer Services and Diamond Digital PRO platforms, to expand its reconditioning, merchandising and inventory workflow capabilities. The Pinnacle assets will be integrated into Xcite's ReconLogic and Frontline platforms; Camden Partners (a Baltimore-based private equity firm) also joined Xcite's board as part of the announcement.

Group 1 Automotive, a Houston-based Fortune 300 automotive retailer, has acquired RRR Automotive Group, expanding its U.S. footprint in the greater Baltimore/Washington, D.C. market. The deal includes Toyota, Honda, Hyundai and Kia new-vehicle dealerships, a Toyota certified pre-owned center and three collision centers (expected to generate over $500 million in annual revenues).

Caliber Collision has acquired Auto Body Innovations, Inc. (ABI), a two-location auto body and collision repair operator with sites in Upper Marlboro and Owings, Maryland. FOCUS Investment Banking represented ABI owners Keith and Kevin Dick in the sale; the deal expands Caliber's national footprint in the collision repair market.

Dealer Services Network (DSN), a Frontenac-backed, tech-enabled title and registration services platform, has acquired Terry's Tag and Title Service, LLC, expanding DSN's footprint into Maryland. The acquisition adds five Maryland locations and brings DSN to 32 locations across seven states.

Sonic Automotive, a Fortune 500 automotive retailer, has acquired Audi Owings Mills in Owings Mills, Maryland. The acquisition expands Sonic's franchised network—marking its 8th Audi franchise and 112th franchised dealership—and strengthens its presence in the Baltimore metropolitan market.

Sonic Automotive, through its EchoPark Automotive segment, acquired the family-owned Carbiz dealership group and integrated two Carbiz locations in Baltimore and Laurel, Maryland into the EchoPark network. The deal retained all 65 Carbiz associates and expands EchoPark's nationwide footprint as part of Sonic's broader growth in the pre-owned vehicle retail market.

Directed, a division of DEI Holdings, has acquired Alcohol Detection Systems (ADS), a provider of ignition interlock (breathalyzer) devices sold under the Determinator product line. The acquisition gives Directed national distribution and service capabilities to expand ADS's business in DUI/DWI remediation programs and the automotive aftermarket.
