i3 Broadband Acquires Big River Broadband and Circle Fiber

i3 Broadband has completed the acquisition of Big River Broadband and its wholly owned subsidiary Circle Fiber, expanding i3's fiber-to-the-home footprint into southeast Missouri. The Peoria-area operator said the deal closed on May 31, 2023 and that it expects to invest an additional $100 million to grow the southeast Missouri market and expand gigabit services.

Cisco Acquires BroadSoft for $1.9B

Cisco agreed to acquire BroadSoft, a provider of cloud PBX, unified communications, team collaboration and contact center software, for $1.9 billion (paying $55 per share). The deal strengthens Cisco's software- and cloud-focused collaboration portfolio and brings BroadSoft's large service-provider customer base and cloud voice/contact-center capabilities into Cisco's applications group.

Sinch AB Acquires Inteliquent for U.S. Voice Leadership

Sinch AB agreed to acquire Inteliquent, the largest independent U.S. voice communications provider, for $1.14 billion in cash to broaden its CPaaS offering and establish leadership in U.S. voice. The acquisition gives Sinch Inteliquent's carrier-grade network, extensive phone-number inventory and voice APIs; closing is subject to customary regulatory approvals including CFIUS and FCC and was expected in H2 2021.

C Spire Acquires Troy Cablevision, Inc. and Union Springs Telephone Company, Inc.

C Spire has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Troy Cablevision, Inc., with the transaction also including Union Springs Telephone Company, Inc. The deal expands C Spire’s fiber-based broadband footprint in Alabama’s Wiregrass region, enabling expanded residential and business broadband, cable TV, and IT services across multiple counties.

i3 Verticals Acquires Business Information Systems (BIS)

i3 Verticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: IIIV) acquired substantially all of the assets of Business Information Systems, GP and Business Information Systems, Inc. (BIS), a provider of software and electronic payment solutions serving state and local governments. The aggregate purchase price was approximately $87.7 million ( $52.5M cash and $35.2M Class A common stock) plus up to $16.0 million of contingent consideration; approximately 150 BIS employees joined i3 Verticals.
