BroadSoft, Inc. has acquired VoIP Logic, a wholesale provider of BroadWorks-based cloud communications services. The acquisition adds VoIP Logic's cloud PBX and BroadCloud-compatible capabilities to BroadSoft's BroadCloud UCaaS portfolio to better serve service providers seeking cloud-based unified communications.

Cisco Acquires Splunk for $28 Billion

Cisco has acquired Splunk in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $28 billion (at $157 per share). The deal brings Splunk's security, observability, and data-platform capabilities into Cisco's portfolio to accelerate Cisco's transition to recurring revenue, expand its AI-enabled security and observability offerings, and drive greater scale and customer value.

Broadcom Acquires VMware

Broadcom Inc. completed its acquisition of VMware, Inc., a leading provider of multi-cloud and virtualization software, in a transaction valued at approximately $61 billion (plus assumed net debt). The deal brings VMware into Broadcom’s software portfolio to expand Broadcom’s infrastructure and cloud software capabilities and rebrand the combined software business under the VMware name.

Broadwing Capital Acquires CloudScale365

Broadwing Capital, a Dallas-based private equity firm, has acquired CloudScale365 as the inaugural investment in its new IT managed service provider (MSP) platform. CloudScale365 is a Nashville-based provider of managed IT, cloud, hosting, and security solutions for small and medium-sized businesses; the founder will transition to a consulting role and Bret Kidd was named CEO as the company pursues expansion in AI, cybersecurity, and infrastructure.

Aurea Acquires BroadVision

Aurea Software, backed by ESW Capital, has acquired BroadVision, a pioneer in complex document creation, management and collaboration tools. The deal was completed as part of a pre-packaged Chapter 11 reorganization: BroadVision shareholders are to receive at least $4.375 per share and ESW Capital will receive the shares of the reorganized company. Aurea plans to integrate BroadVision's capabilities into its Aurea Unlimited enterprise software library to strengthen its collaboration offerings.

Cisco Acquires Tropo

Cisco announced its intent to acquire Tropo, a privately held cloud API platform that enables developers to embed real-time voice and messaging into applications. The Tropo team will join Cisco's Collaboration Technology Group to extend Cisco's cloud collaboration capabilities and reach the developer community; financial terms were not disclosed.
