Juniper Education Acquires Jane Systems

Juniper Education, a Horizon Capital portfolio company, has acquired Jane Systems, a UK specialist education HR and payroll software provider that supports hundreds of multi-academy trusts (MATs) and processes over 75,000 payslips per month. The deal expands Juniper's education-focused software and services portfolio — combining Jane Systems with SISRA and other products to offer schools and MATs a more complete staff management solution and growing the number of schools using Juniper's solutions to over 10,000.

Juniper Education (Horizon-backed) Acquires Pupil Asset

Juniper Education, backed by Horizon Capital, has acquired Pupil Asset, a UK-based management information system (MIS) and pupil assessment tracking provider used by around 900 primary schools. The acquisition is an add-on to Juniper’s education software and services platform, with planned further investment to develop Pupil Asset’s product and integrate it into Juniper’s suite of school management tools.

Horizon Capital Backs Buyout of Juniper Education

Horizon Capital (via its Horizon 2018 fund) has made a £20 million equity commitment to back a buyout of education software and services provider Juniper Education, supporting a buy-and-build strategy. Juniper — led by Executive Chairman Gavin Freed — has already completed an add-on acquisition of EES for Schools (Target Tracker) from Essex County Council and will pursue further organic and acquisitive growth to consolidate the fragmented UK schools software and services market.

Sigma Defense Acquires Juno Technologies

Sigma Defense LLC, a portfolio company of Sagewind Capital, has acquired San Diego-based Juno Technologies to expand its software development, systems integration, engineering, and fleet support capabilities for Department of Defense customers. The deal strengthens Sigma Defense’s CJADC2, C5ISR and DevSecOps capabilities and extends its reach—particularly within the U.S. Navy and other naval customers.
