Maurel & Prom Acquires Assala Energy from Carlyle

French Euronext-listed oil and gas producer Maurel & Prom (M&P) has agreed to acquire Assala Energy, an upstream oil exploration and production company operating in Gabon, from global investment firm Carlyle. Carlyle, which invested in Assala in 2017 through Carlyle International Energy Partners and deployed over $1.3 billion, grew production to ~45 kbbl/d, extended reserve life and reduced emissions during its ownership.
