Network Innovations Acquires Infosat Communications from Telesat

Network Innovations has acquired Infosat Communications, a satellite services business formerly owned by Telesat Corporation, with the first closing of the sale occurring on September 1, 2024. The acquisition adds Infosat’s remote connectivity expertise (including maritime and enterprise services) to Network Innovations’ global technology integration capabilities and will be closed in phases pending regulatory approvals.

Connect Bidco Limited, an acquisition vehicle owned by a consortium of funds advised by Apax Partners and Warburg Pincus together with the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board, completed a recommended cash offer to acquire all issued ordinary share capital of Inmarsat. The consortium said the investment will support Inmarsat’s market leadership in maritime, aviation and defence communications and help the company capitalise on in-flight connectivity and Internet of Things opportunities.
