MariaDB Acquires CubeWerx

MariaDB Corporation has acquired CubeWerx, a geospatial software specialist, to add cloud-native, scalable geospatial capabilities to its managed cloud service SkySQL. The acquisition will let MariaDB offer OGC standards-based REST APIs and tiered storage for large raster and vector geospatial datasets, expanding its developer-focused cloud database feature set.

K1 (Meridian BidCo) Acquires MariaDB plc

Meridian BidCo LLC, an affiliate of K1 Investment Management, completed a tender offer to acquire MariaDB plc for $0.55 per share, acquiring 88.7% of the issued share capital and issuing compulsory acquisition notices to purchase remaining shares. Following the acquisition, K1 intends to delist MariaDB from the NYSE and has announced new leadership to accelerate product innovation and enterprise growth.
