Spirit AeroSystems (NYSE: SPR) acquired the assets of Applied Aerodynamics, a composite MRO provider based in Farmers Branch, Texas. The acquisition expands Spirit’s aftermarket and composite repair capabilities, adding a 120,000-square-foot facility and workforce to improve turnaround times and broaden repair scope for commercial and defense customers.

FMI — a supplier of high‑temperature carbon/carbon and ceramic matrix composites with facilities in Biddeford, Maine and Woonsocket, Rhode Island and roughly 400 employees — supplies materials for defense and NASA programs; Tex‑Tech said the acquisition expands its thermally protective materials capabilities for aerospace, defense and space markets.
