Monument Assurance Luxembourg (Monument Re) Acquires AME Life Lux S.A. from Covéa

Monument Assurance Luxembourg S.A., a Luxembourg subsidiary of Monument Re Group, completed the acquisition of AME Life Lux S.A. from French mutual insurance group Covéa following regulatory approval from the Commissariat aux Assurances. The deal expands Monument's Luxembourg life-insurance footprint and will not affect AME Life Lux policyholders; Monument later announced the merger of AME Life Lux into its Monument Assurance Luxembourg entity.

Monument Re Ltd has signed an agreement to acquire Bermuda-domiciled GreyCastle Holdings Ltd and its subsidiaries (including GreyCastle Life Reinsurance (SAC) Ltd and GreyCastle Services) from GreyCastle’s shareholders, subject to regulatory approvals. The acquisition expands Monument Re’s life and annuity reinsurance portfolio and supports its strategy of assuming and operating asset-intensive insurance portfolios internationally.

Monument Re Subsidiary Acquires Zurich International Life's Singapore Closed‑Book Portfolio

Monument International Life Assurance Company Limited (MILAC), an Isle of Man subsidiary of Monument Re Limited, has completed the acquisition of the closed book portfolio of Zurich International Life Limited's Singapore long‑term life insurance business. The Singapore portfolio and its employees have transferred into MILAC's Singapore branch following receipt of court and regulatory approvals in the Isle of Man and Singapore.

Aéma Groupe Acquires Aviva France

Essence Healthcare, a sister company of Lumeris, has reached an agreement in principle to acquire Mutual of Omaha Medicare Advantage Company (MOMAC) and Medicare Advantage Company of Omaha (MAICO). The subsidiaries operate Medicare Advantage plans in Cincinnati, San Antonio, Dallas, Denver and El Paso; Lumeris currently operates the plans and will continue to do so after closing, which is expected by mid-2020 pending regulatory approvals.

Brookfield Reinsurance (BNRE) entered into and expected to close its acquisition of American Equity Investment Life Holding Company (AEL), with the transaction expected to close after market on May 2, 2024. The deal brings AEL’s annuities and life insurance capabilities under Brookfield Reinsurance’s capital-solutions platform to expand liability-driven asset allocation and private asset management capabilities.
