nuEra Cannabis Acquires Ieso Cultivation Facility

nuEra Cannabis, a family-owned Illinois cannabis retailer, has acquired Ieso, an original Illinois cultivation licensee, adding an 85,000 sq. ft. cultivation and processing facility in Murphysboro, Illinois. The deal vertically integrates nuEra by bringing cultivation, hydrocarbon extraction and a commercial kitchen in-house to support wholesale and retail expansion across the state.

Toronto-based GrowerIQ has acquired fellow cannabis software provider Ample Organics from U.S.-based Akerna in an all-cash deal that closed in December; financial terms were not disclosed. The acquisition brings Ample's seven employees onto GrowerIQ's ~25-person team and combines two seed-to-sale ERP platforms to create what GrowerIQ calls the largest cannabis tech platform in Canada (and a stronger position in Europe).
