Xplornet Communications Acquires Corridor Communications (CCI Wireless)

Xplornet Communications Inc. has completed the acquisition of Corridor Communications Inc., which operates CCI Wireless, expanding Xplornet’s operational presence across western Canada. The deal will deepen Xplornet’s rural broadband footprint in Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan while retaining CCI Wireless’ team and network assets to accelerate delivery of higher-speed and affordable services to rural communities.

Xplornet Acquires Metro Loop (Ocdotus Inc.)

Xplornet Communications Inc. has acquired Ocdotus Inc., which operates as Metro Loop, a fibre-to-the-premise provider serving Hamilton and Haldimand County in southern Ontario. The transaction transfers Metro Loop's customers and operations to Xplornet as the Metro Loop team (including its president) joins Xplornet to support expanded fibre deployments in rural Ontario.

Oak Hill Capital Invests in NetSpeed LLC to Accelerate Northeast Fiber Deployment

Oak Hill Capital has formed a partnership with NetSpeed LLC to provide capital and support to accelerate NetSpeed's expansion of fiber-to-the-premises networks across the Northeastern United States. NetSpeed's founder Frank Chiaino and management remain significant investors in the business while Oak Hill will contribute operational and financial expertise to scale deployments.

NOVA Infrastructure Acquires Xchange Telecom / Skywire Networks

NOVA Infrastructure has acquired Xchange Telecom (and its commercial business, Skywire), a New York–based provider of high-speed internet, voice, and unified communications serving New York City, upstate New York and New Jersey. NOVA — which first invested in Xchange in September 2021 — said the acquisition expands its communications portfolio and positions Xchange to scale broadband and voice services into underserved urban buildings and neighborhoods.

Highline Acquires Fiber Assets and ISP Business from 906 Technologies, LLC

Highline has acquired the fiber assets and ISP business of 906 Technologies, LLC, including internet customers and outside plant & construction employees in Marquette County, Michigan. The deal expands Highline's FTTP footprint across Michigan's Upper Peninsula and transfers ISP operations to Highline while allowing 906 Technologies to focus on its network and technology service clients.

Blackline Safety Acquires Swift Labs

Blackline Safety Corp. acquired Ontario-based IoT design and engineering consultancy Swift Labs Inc. for total consideration of $5 million (cash and shares), with the transaction closing on March 31, 2022. The acquisition expands Blackline's product development capacity and brings Swift Labs' IoT, wireless and embedded systems expertise into Blackline's connected worker portfolio.
