Health Plans, Inc. (HPI), a Massachusetts-based self-funded health plan administrator, has acquired MedCost, a North Carolina-based third-party administrator (TPA) and PPO network. The deal expands HPI's geographic coverage and network capabilities across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, adds over 150,000 members and strengthens care management and provider partnerships for serving multi-state employers and health system clients.

MDS Acquires Cobian Insurance Brokers

MDS, part of The Ardonagh Group, has acquired Cobian Insurance Brokers, a Madrid-based commercial insurance broker founded in 2018 that specialises in industrial risks, energy, construction and financial lines. Pablo Cobián will remain with the business and the acquisition is intended to strengthen MDS’s Iberian platform and Spanish presence (subject to regulatory approvals).
