Diodes Incorporated Acquires onsemi's South Portland 200mm Fab

Diodes Incorporated has completed the acquisition of onsemi’s operational 200mm wafer fabrication facility in South Portland, Maine (SPFAB). The divestiture allows onsemi to redeploy production to other fabs as part of its fab-liter strategy while Diodes gains U.S. 200mm capacity to support growth in automotive and industrial end markets.

POET Technologies Acquires Super Photonics Xiamen

POET Technologies completed the acquisition of the remaining 24.8% equity in Super Photonics Xiamen (SPX) from Quanzhou San'an (Sanan) for US$6.5 million (payable over five years) and purchased SPX's production equipment for US$3.8 million. The deal gives POET 100% ownership of SPX, strengthens its ‘China Plus One’ manufacturing footprint and expands production capacity for 800G+ optical engines serving AI and hyperscale data center markets.

Micross Components, a Behrman Capital portfolio company, has acquired the High-Reliability Discrete Diodes and Assemblies business of Semtech Corporation, expanding Micross' product portfolio and adding manufacturing capacity in Reynosa, Mexico. The deal strengthens Micross' power-management and high-reliability component offerings for aerospace, defense, medical and industrial customers and represents an add-on to Micross' platform under Behrman Capital.

onsemi Acquires SWIR Vision Systems

onsemi has completed the acquisition of SWIR Vision Systems, a North Carolina–based developer of colloidal quantum-dot (CQD) short-wave infrared (SWIR) imaging technology. The deal brings SWIR Vision Systems and its team into onsemi’s Intelligent Sensing Group to integrate CQD SWIR capabilities with onsemi’s CMOS sensor manufacturing to expand sensing capabilities across industrial, automotive and defense markets.

Niobrara Capital and Prysm Capital Acquire Polar Semiconductor

Polar Semiconductor has been sold to Niobrara Capital and Prysm Capital following a $175 million equity financing to convert the company into a majority U.S.-owned merchant foundry. The investors and federal/state CHIPS incentives will support a roughly $525 million investment to double wafer capacity, add compound semiconductor, sensor and power semiconductor capabilities, and create 160+ jobs in Bloomington, Minnesota.
