Matrix Renewables Acquires Stillhouse Solar Project from OCI Solar Power

Matrix Renewables, the TPG Rise-backed renewable energy platform, has acquired the Stillhouse Solar Project, a late-stage 284 MWdc solar development in Bell County, Texas, from OCI Solar Power. Matrix plans to complete power offtake, procurement and financing with construction slated for 2024 and commercial operations expected in 2025.

Woodside Energy Group Ltd completed the acquisition of 100% of OCI Clean Ammonia Holding B.V., taking ownership of the 1.1 million tonne-per-annum Clean Ammonia project in Beaumont, Texas, for approximately USD 2.35 billion (cash-free, debt-free). OCI will continue to manage construction and commissioning through provisional acceptance; first ammonia is targeted in 2025 and lower‑carbon ammonia in 2026, with USD 1.88 billion paid at closing and the remaining USD 470 million payable at project completion.

T1 Energy Acquires Trina Solar's U.S. Manufacturing Assets

(formerly FREYR) acquired the U.S. solar manufacturing assets of Trina Solar Co., Ltd. for $621 million, including a 5 GW, 1.35 million sq. ft. module facility in Wilmer, Texas (now named G1 Dallas). The asset purchase was announced November 6, 2024 and closed December 24, 2024 as part of T1's strategy to build a vertically integrated U.S. solar and battery manufacturing supply chain.

Solaris Oilfield Infrastructure (renaming to Solaris Energy Infrastructure) has acquired Mobile Energy Rentals LLC for $200 million in a transaction that includes $60 million cash and ~16.5 million Solaris Class B shares issued to MER's founders and management. The deal expands Solaris' distributed power capabilities and end-market exposure (including oil & gas, data centers and C&I), adds a contracted mobile turbine fleet (153 MW today, expected to grow to 478 MW by Q3 2025) and is supported by new debt financing to fund fleet expansion.
