Macquarie (MIRA / MEIF6) Acquires Farnborough Airport

Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA), via Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 6 (MEIF6), has acquired Farnborough Airport from a consortium of private investors. The transaction adds the UK’s only dedicated business aviation airport to MIRA’s airport and FBO portfolio as it looks to further develop Farnborough’s facilities and services for the business aviation market.

AviAlliance Acquires AGS Airports from Macquarie and Ferrovial

AviAlliance has agreed to acquire AGS Airports from Macquarie Asset Management (via Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 4) and Ferrovial for an enterprise value of approximately £1.53 billion. The transaction transfers ownership of the airports serving Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton, and is expected to reach financial close by Q1 2025 subject to customary conditions and regulatory approvals.

Viamed Salud operates a network of acute hospitals, convalescence centres and outpatient clinics across multiple Spanish regions; Macquarie said the investment targets long-term growth driven by an ageing population and expansion of private healthcare in Spain.

Ardian and PIF Acquire 37.62% of FGP Topco (Heathrow) as Ferrovial Sells 19.75% Stake

Ferrovial and certain other shareholders completed the sale of 37.62% of FGP Topco (parent of Heathrow Airport Holdings Ltd) to Ardian and the Public Investment Fund (PIF) for GBP 3,259 million (approximately €4,000 million). Ferrovial sold a 19.75% stake, will retain a 5.25% holding (to be recorded as a financial investment) and expects to recognize an estimated €2,500 million profit related to the transaction.

Hawthorne is a U.S. fixed-base operator (FBO) network with six locations offering fueling, hangaring and ancillary airport services; the investors plan to build a larger FBO platform and expand the company’s geographic footprint in corporate and general aviation.
