EIS, a North American specialty distributor of electrical process materials, has acquired Power Grid Supply, a supplier of transformer parts and components. The acquisition expands EIS's product portfolio and aftermarket capabilities for transformer OEMs, remanufacturers, field service contractors, and utilities, and will support geographic expansion across North America.

Sonepar Acquires Multiple North American Electrical Distributors (2024)

Sonepar announced a series of North American acquisitions in 2024, completing seven deals that together add more than $2 billion in revenue, roughly 1,700 associates and 89 branches to its network. Named transactions reported in industry press include acquisitions of Madison Electric Company, Standard Electric Company, Echo Electric Supply Company, Electric Supply Center and Summit Electric Supply, part of Sonepar’s continued U.S. geographic expansion and capability build-out.

Graybar Acquires Blazer Electric Supply

Graybar has acquired Blazer Electric Supply, an independent electrical distributor headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, effective March 1, 2024. Blazer will operate as a Graybar subsidiary under its existing name with Trevor Blazer serving as president; the deal expands Graybar’s footprint and service capabilities in southern Colorado.

ABB to Acquire SEAM Group to Expand Electrification Service Offering

ABB has agreed to acquire SEAM Group, a provider of energized asset management and advisory services, to broaden its Electrification Service offering. The deal — expected to close in Q3 2024 subject to regulatory approvals — will extend ABB’s low- and medium-voltage services and field service coverage across North America; financial terms were not disclosed.

Cape Electrical Supply Acquires Power Supply Company, LLC

The business will operate as a division of Cape Electrical Supply, with existing employees and supplier relationships retained, expanding Cape Electric's presence into the Tennessee market.

The E-J Group Acquires State Electric Corporation

The E-J Group has acquired State Electric Corporation, a Bedford, Massachusetts-based full-service electrical contractor. State Electric will retain its name and leadership and will join E-J to strengthen the buyer's Northeast presence and expand capabilities in healthcare, life sciences, power, transportation and renewable energy projects.
