Automotive Color & Supply Acquires Paint Works

Automotive Color & Supply, a portfolio company of WILsquare Capital, has acquired Paint Works, a regional distributor of automotive and industrial paint and supplies based in Tyler, Texas. Terms were not disclosed; the deal expands ACS' footprint in the South (Texas, Arkansas and Louisiana) and ACS will continue operating Paint Works branches under the existing Paint Works brand.

Authority Brands Acquires Clockwork, Inc.

Authority Brands, a home-services franchising platform backed by funds advised by Apax Partners, agreed to acquire Clockwork, Inc. and certain affiliates (owner of Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, Mister Sparky and One Hour) from Direct Energy Group (a Centrica plc subsidiary). The add-on deal — expected to close in the first half of 2019 — expands Authority Brands' portfolio and doubles its system revenue to over $1 billion.

Givaudan to Acquire DDW, The Color House

Givaudan has reached an agreement to acquire DDW, The Color House, a US-based natural colour company headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. The acquisition (terms undisclosed) will expand Givaudan's Taste & Wellbeing portfolio and natural-colour capabilities; DDW operates 12 facilities, has about 315 employees and would have contributed roughly USD 140 million of incremental sales on a 2020 pro forma basis. The transaction is expected to close in Q4 2021 and is planned to be debt funded.
