DNA Payments Acquires Active Merchant Services

DNA Payments Group (DNA) has acquired UK-based independent sales organisation Active Merchant Services (also known as Active Payments), which serves more than 2,500 merchants. The deal expands DNA's merchant base to ~30,000 and its terminal estate to ~57,000 across the UK and EU, increasing processing volumes to over £5.5 billion per annum.

The deal expands DNA Payments' merchant base and product offerings across the UK and Ireland and will be integrated into DNA's vertically integrated payments platform as part of its ongoing growth strategy following backing from Alchemy Partners.

The deal will integrate Kwalitas' regional merchant base with DNA's gateway, PaaS/SaaS capabilities and ISOs to expand service reach and develop new payments solutions for SME customers across the UK.

Pineapple Payments Acquires 1st Payment Systems

Pineapple Payments, a Pittsburgh-based payments technology company, acquired Roswell, Georgia-based 1st Payment Systems to expand its direct sales reach and deepen partnerships with associations and Integrated Software Vendors (ISVs). The deal brings 1st Payment's vertical-focused sales capabilities into Pineapple's Transax platform to pursue more ISV and association channel growth; terms were not disclosed.

The deal broadens EMS's distribution channels and strengthens its capabilities in petroleum and convenience-store payments while providing Peel Payments access to EMS's technology infrastructure and sales network.
