Bristol ID Technologies Acquires Plastic Resource Inc.

Bristol ID Technologies, a Lima, New York-based manufacturer of RFID and custom identification cards, has acquired Plastic Resource Inc., a Cottage Grove, Minnesota-based specialty printer of short-run PVC and Teslin cards used for gift, loyalty and membership programs. The acquisition, announced by Pillsman Partners (an investor in Bristol ID), expands Bristol ID's Duracard capabilities by adding quick-turn, small-run card production and complementary materials and formats.

PDFTron Acquires PDF3D

PDFTron Systems Inc. has acquired PDF3D, a UK-based leader in 3D PDF conversion and collaboration technologies, and integrated the PDF3D SDK into the PDFTron platform. The acquisition expands PDFTron's document-processing capabilities for developers and enterprise customers, bringing 3D PDF conversion, viewing and collaboration features to its SDK offering.

BP3 Global Acquires transformAI

Austin-based BP3 Global has acquired San Jose-based transformAI, an Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) provider that combines RPA and AI. The transaction adds transformAI's IDP technology and hosted managed-service capabilities (including Sherpa and FastTrack APIs) to BP3's intelligent automation offerings to accelerate solutions for accounts payable, insurance claims, medical records and other document-heavy workflows.

Stratasys Acquires Origin to Expand Polymer Mass-Production 3D Printing

Stratasys Ltd. signed an agreement to acquire 3D printing start-up Origin Inc. for up to $100 million (cash and stock), with $60 million paid on closing and $40 million in performance-based earnouts. The deal brings Origin's Programmable PhotoPolymerization (P3) platform and Origin One systems into Stratasys' portfolio to accelerate its push into mass production polymer additive manufacturing across markets such as dental, medical and industrial.

Brady Corporation Acquires Magicard Limited from LDC

Brady Corporation has acquired UK-based ID card printer and software maker Magicard Limited from private equity investor LDC for approximately GBP 42 million (about USD 59 million). Magicard, headquartered in Weymouth, England, reported forecasted 2021 sales of about GBP 23 million and will add rigid-card printing and encoding capabilities to Brady's product portfolio while benefiting from Brady's global distribution footprint.
