Demetra S.p.A. Acquires OrthoFundamentals, LLC and Launches Demetra Spine

Demetra S.p.A. has completed the full acquisition of OrthoFundamentals, LLC, a U.S.-based maker of sterile-packed, single-use implants and instrument kits for sacroiliac (SI) joint fusion. The deal enables Demetra to launch Demetra Spine, expanding its product offering into spine surgery and strengthening its presence in the U.S. outpatient Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) market.

Henry Schein, Inc. completed the acquisition of a majority interest in TriMed, Inc., a Santa Clarita, California–based developer of orthopedic implants and solutions for lower and upper extremities. TriMed reported approximately $52 million in 2023 net sales; the TriMed founders will remain with the business and financial terms were not disclosed. Henry Schein said the deal will broaden its surgical product offering to IDNs and ASCs and is expected to be neutral to 2024 non-GAAP EPS and accretive thereafter.
