Affiliates of CriticalPoint Capital have closed the acquisition of AECOM's Power Construction division and launched the business as an independent company, United E&C, Inc. CriticalPoint said it will partner with United's management to build a stand-alone infrastructure engineering and construction platform serving power generation, transmission & distribution, and renewable markets.

Pearce Services, a New Mountain Capital-backed provider of mission-critical infrastructure services, has acquired Unified Power, a Terrell, Texas-based provider of UPS and backup generator maintenance and repair services. The deal, supported with incremental capital from Goldman Sachs Alternatives' Hybrid Capital group, expands Pearce's capabilities into UPS services and strengthens its presence across data center, telecom, healthcare and other mission-critical end markets; Incline Equity Partners sold Unified Power.

Blackstone Energy Transition Partners closed the acquisition of Power Grid Components, Inc. (PGC) from Shorehill Capital LLC on November 30, 2023. PGC is a U.S. designer and manufacturer of critical electrical grid components (switchgear, insulators, and instrument transformers); Blackstone said the purchase supports its energy-transition strategy to modernize and harden the electrical grid while scaling PGC's platform.
