GridTek Utility Services Acquires American Power, LLC and Valiant Energy Services

GridTek Utility Services, a First Reserve portfolio company, has acquired American Power, LLC and Valiant Energy Services, LLC to expand its electric transmission and distribution maintenance, repair and upgrade capabilities across the U.S. The simultaneous add-ons nearly double the size of the GridTek platform (pro forma > $350 million in revenue) and increase its geographic footprint and service capacity for investor-owned utilities, cooperatives and municipalities.

Brookfield Renewable Acquires Urban Grid for $650M

Brookfield Renewable acquired clean power developer Urban Grid and its pipeline of approximately 20,000 MW (13,000 MW solar and 7,000 MW storage) across 12 U.S. states for $650 million. The deal roughly triples Brookfield Renewable's U.S. development pipeline and Urban Grid will continue to operate under its brand as an independent power producer (IPP).

Brookfield Acquires National Grid Renewables; Rebrands as Geronimo Power

Brookfield Asset Management, together with its institutional partners including Brookfield Renewable Partners, completed the acquisition of National Grid Renewables from National Grid plc and will operate the business under the Geronimo Power brand. The Minneapolis-headquartered company develops and operates utility-scale solar, wind and energy storage (about 2 GW operating, 1 GW under construction and ~20 GW in development) and will continue scaling Brookfield’s U.S. renewables platform.

Catalyst Power Acquires AP Gas & Electric (NY) LLC

Catalyst Power Holdings LLC acquired AP Gas & Electric (NY) LLC, expanding Catalyst Power's retail energy footprint across New York State and enabling the addition of natural gas, community solar, and Connected Microgrid offerings to AP G&E NY's middle-market commercial and industrial customers. The acquisition is backed by BP Energy Partners, the private equity sponsor of Catalyst Power, and represents an add-on to Catalyst Power's platform to accelerate deployment of lower-carbon energy solutions.

United Grid Solutions (Pike) Acquires United Engineers & Constructors' Power Delivery Business Unit from CriticalPoint

The Power Generation Group remains with United; Pike will operate the Power Delivery Group to expand its transmission, substation and distribution capabilities across the U.S.
