Simpson Performance Products Acquires Clearwater Lights

Simpson Performance Products, a portfolio company of private equity firm BRS & Co., has acquired Clearwater Lights from founder Glenn Stasky. Clearwater, a Rancho Cordova, California-based designer and assembler of auxiliary LED lights for motorsport applications, will continue to be led by Mr. Stasky, and the acquisition expands Simpson's motorsport safety and lighting product offering as an add-on to its portfolio.

(NASDAQ: BRP) announced that Performance Bonding Surety & Insurance Brokerage, L.P. will be operated within the BRP family through BRP's Partnership (strategic acquisition) with Wood Gutmann & Bogart Insurance Brokers and certain affiliates, a transaction that closed on December 1, 2021. Performance Bonding, a Tustin, California–based surety specialist, will add bonding and commercial insurance expertise to BRP's national practice and expand BRP's surety capabilities for clients including contractors, developers and private equity–owned businesses.

BRS & Co. Acquires Majority Control of Shearwater Research Inc.

New York-based private equity firm BRS & Co. has acquired majority control of Shearwater Research Inc., a Richmond, British Columbia–headquartered designer and manufacturer of dive computers and rebreather electronics. BRS said it will partner with founders Bruce and Lynn Partridge and Shearwater's senior management to expand the company's reach and accelerate product development and distribution globally.

BRS & Co. Acquires Tolemar, LLC

BRS & Co., a New York-based private equity firm, has acquired Tolemar, LLC, a Huntington Beach, California-based manufacturer and supplier of branded and private-label accessories for UTVs, ATVs and motorcycles. The investment positions Tolemar to expand its product and distribution reach across direct-to-distributor and direct-to-consumer channels under brands including Trinity Racing, LA Choppers and Baron Custom Accessories.

BRS & Co. Invests in Canada Pooch Ltd.

New York-based private equity firm BRS & Co. has made an investment in Canada Pooch Ltd., a Toronto-based designer and manufacturer of premium pet apparel and accessories. The deal terms were not disclosed; BRS said the partnership will support expansion and penetration of the Canada Pooch brand through retail and online channels.

BRP Group, Inc. Acquires Brush Creek Partners

(NASDAQ: BRP) has entered into an agreement to acquire substantially all assets of Brush Creek, LLC (doing business as Brush Creek Partners), a Kansas City–based provider of commercial insurance, technology risk management and due diligence solutions. The asset acquisition (bringing ~20 colleagues) is intended to deepen BRP Group’s Cyber & Technology and VC/PE/Construction industry expertise and expand its risk-management capabilities.
