Reading Truck Group Acquires General Truck Body (General Body Manufacturing Company)

The Reading Truck Group, a business unit of J.B. Poindexter & Co., has acquired General Body Manufacturing Company (d/b/a General Truck Body), a family-owned manufacturer and upfitter of work truck bodies headquartered in Houston, Texas. The acquisition adds GTB’s three Texas locations and one in Kentucky to Reading Truck’s network, increasing Reading Truck locations to 28 and expanding its presence in the south-central United States while broadening its commercial truck and van pools for major OEMs.

Reading Truck Group Acquires Action Fabrication & Truck Equipment, Inc.

Merx Truck & Trailer has acquired Majestic Truck Services, a long-established truck collision and repair provider based in Altoona, Iowa. The deal expands Merx's multi-site presence in the Des Moines market and adds Majestic's 53,000 sq. ft. repair facility and capabilities to Merx's Midwest service network; terms were not disclosed.

Aebi Schmidt Group Acquires Monroe Truck Equipment from Industrial Opportunity Partners

Aebi Schmidt Group agreed to acquire Monroe Truck Equipment, a U.S.-based manufacturer and upfitter of municipal and commercial truck equipment, from private equity owner Industrial Opportunity Partners. D.A. Davidson served as financial advisor to Monroe; the deal (expected to close around end of 2021) gives Aebi Schmidt U.S. upfitting centers, nationwide distribution and cross-sell opportunities while Monroe gains access to Aebi Schmidt's global technologies and resources.

Alamo Group Acquires Royal Truck & Equipment

Alamo Group Inc. acquired 100% of the outstanding equity of Royal Truck & Equipment, a Shoemakersville, Pennsylvania-based manufacturer of truck-mounted highway attenuator trucks and other highway safety equipment. The acquisition adds a new platform for Alamo in the highway safety equipment market and is expected to accelerate Royal Truck's growth amid increased government infrastructure spending.
