Ampaire Acquires Magpie Aviation

Hybrid-electric propulsion developer Ampaire has acquired California-based aero tow startup Magpie Aviation. Ampaire said it will integrate Magpie's electric aero-tow concept and continue development under Magpie's existing contract with the U.S. Air Force (AFWERX Agility Prime), expanding Ampaire's capabilities for defense and advanced air mobility applications.

Baykar Acquires Piaggio Aerospace

Turkish unmanned aircraft manufacturer Baykar has acquired Italian aircraft maker Piaggio Aerospace following approval from Italy's Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy. The deal gives Baykar traditional aircraft manufacturing, MRO and engine capabilities in Italy and supports plans to preserve jobs and expand production at Piaggio's facilities.

Sekisui Chemical Acquires AIM Aerospace from Liberty Hall for US$510 Million

Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. agreed to acquire AIM Aerospace from Liberty Hall Capital Partners for US$510 million in cash. AIM Aerospace, a Renton, Washington–based designer and manufacturer of advanced composite structures, engine components and thermoplastic aerospace technologies, becomes a wholly owned operating company of Sekisui to expand the acquirer's aerospace materials and manufacturing capabilities.

First Aviation Services Acquires Associated Aircraft Manufacturing & Sales (AAMSI)

First Aviation Services Inc. has acquired Associated Aircraft Manufacturing & Sales, Inc. (AAMSI), a Fort Lauderdale-based manufacturer and MRO provider for aircraft electronics, avionics, hydraulic and landing gear components. The deal, completed on November 22, 2022, expands First Aviation's manufacturing and repair capabilities — particularly its defense / DOD-approved repairs — and creates opportunities for vertical integration across its component repair and overhaul operations.

Rocket Lab Acquires Advanced Solutions, Inc.

Rocket Lab USA, Inc. completed the acquisition of Advanced Solutions, Inc. (ASI), a Colorado-based aerospace engineering firm specializing in flight software, mission simulation, and GNC, for $40 million plus up to $5.5 million of performance-based earnouts. The deal expands Rocket Lab's Space Systems capabilities and integrates ASI's proven flight software and GNC expertise into Rocket Lab's Photon and broader spacecraft offerings.

CACI International Acquires Azure Summit Technology

CACI International Inc. has acquired Azure Summit Technology in an all-cash transaction valued at $1.275 billion, strengthening CACI's capabilities in RF hardware, software-defined technologies, and electromagnetic-spectrum solutions for defense customers. The acquisition brings more than 300 Azure Summit employees into CACI and expands CACI's offerings in ISR, electronic warfare (EW), and signals intelligence (SIGINT) across maritime and airborne platforms.
