Sekisui Chemical Acquires AIM Aerospace from Liberty Hall for US$510 Million

Sekisui Chemical Co., Ltd. agreed to acquire AIM Aerospace from Liberty Hall Capital Partners for US$510 million in cash. AIM Aerospace, a Renton, Washington–based designer and manufacturer of advanced composite structures, engine components and thermoplastic aerospace technologies, becomes a wholly owned operating company of Sekisui to expand the acquirer's aerospace materials and manufacturing capabilities.

Bain Capital Private Equity completed a majority buyout of Showa Aircraft Industry Co., Ltd., paying approximately ¥90 billion (US$817 million) and delisting the company from the Tokyo Stock Exchange. Bain said it will support redevelopment of Showa Aircraft’s significant real estate assets in Akishima and leverage operational expertise to grow the company’s manufacturing business, which produces honeycomb core panels and other transportation-industry components.
