Hydrobuilder Holdings Acquires Way to Grow

Hydrobuilder Holdings LLC, an omnichannel platform serving the hydroponics, controlled-environment agriculture (CEA) and specialty agriculture market, acquired Way to Grow, a Colorado-based retailer of aeroponic, hydroponic and greenhouse products. The deal adds five retail locations in Colorado to Hydrobuilder's portfolio and expands the platform's geographic and retail footprint.

Hydrofarm Acquires House & Garden

Hydrofarm Holdings Group, Inc. agreed to acquire House & Garden, Inc. and affiliated entities for approximately $125 million, funded with existing cash, with the acquired businesses becoming wholly owned indirect subsidiaries. The acquisition expands Hydrofarm's branded nutrients portfolio (including the House & Garden and Mad Farmer brands), with House & Garden expected to generate about $55 million in 2021 net sales and the deal valuing the business at under 7x estimated 2021 adjusted EBITDA.

Hydrofarm Acquires Aurora Innovations' Organic Nutrients and Grow Media Operations

Hydrofarm Holdings Group, Inc. completed the acquisition of Aurora Innovations, Aurora International and Gotham Properties LLC, an Eugene, Oregon-based manufacturer and supplier of organic hydroponic nutrients and grow media. The deal expands Hydrofarm's portfolio of nutrient and growing-media brands and complements its recent purchases of HEAVY 16, House & Garden, and Mad Farmer.

GrowGeneration Corp. Acquires HGS Hydro

GrowGeneration Corp. signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire HGS Hydro, the third-largest chain of hydroponic garden centers in the U.S., adding six existing Michigan stores (with a seventh opening soon). The acquisition will increase GrowGeneration's Michigan footprint and bring its total store count to 65, and is expected to close before GrowGeneration's fiscal year-end 2021.

Hydrobuilder Holdings Acquires New England Hydroponics

Hydrobuilder Holdings LLC acquired New England Hydroponics, adding five retail locations and warehouse capacity in Massachusetts and Maine and marking Hydrobuilder’s entry into the Northeastern U.S. The acquisition expands Hydrobuilder’s omnichannel footprint to 22 retail locations and 9 warehouses and is intended to accelerate growth in the Commercial and retail CEA (controlled-environment agriculture) markets.

GrowGeneration Acquires Assets of H2O Hydroponics (Lansing, MI)

GrowGeneration Corp. purchased substantially all assets of H2O Hydroponics, LLC to open a new 15,000 sq. ft. super hydroponic garden center in Lansing, Michigan that will operate as a retail/commercial location and fulfillment center. The acquisition expands GrowGeneration’s Michigan footprint and supply-chain capabilities; management expects the consolidated Lansing location to generate over $7.0 million in sales (H2O reported ~ $4.0 million in 2019).
