Cadence Design Systems has acquired Pointwise, a specialist in mesh generation for computational fluid dynamics (CFD), to expand its system analysis and high-fidelity simulation offerings. The acquisition augments Cadence's CFD portfolio—alongside the earlier NUMECA deal—by adding mesh generation and pre-processing capabilities critical for aerospace and other engineering applications; terms were not disclosed.
