Cadence Design Systems has acquired Integrand Software, Inc. to integrate Integrand's EMX Method of Moments electromagnetic solver into Cadence's Virtuoso, Sigrity, Clarity and AWR offerings, strengthening Cadence's 5G RF communications capabilities. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Cadence Acquires Hexagon's Design & Engineering Business

Cadence Design Systems completed the acquisition of Hexagon AB's Design & Engineering (D&E) business for approximately €2.7 billion in cash and Cadence common stock. Hexagon received ~3.2 million Cadence shares (about 30% of consideration) with the remainder in cash; the D&E business contributed roughly €265 million of revenue in 2024 and the sale is expected to produce a ~€1.4 billion gain for Hexagon. The deal expands Cadence's capabilities in physical AI, multiphysics and system-level design and analysis.

Cadence Design Systems announced the acquisition of OpenEye Scientific Software for approximately $500 million, extending Cadence's computational software expertise into molecular modeling and simulation for life sciences. OpenEye's cloud-native Orion SaaS platform and scientific toolkits—used by 19 of the top 20 global pharmaceutical companies—will be combined with Cadence's algorithmic, solver and large-data management capabilities to accelerate computational drug discovery; the deal is expected to contribute about $40 million in fiscal 2023.
