Catalyze Makes Minority Investment in Microgrid Labs to Accelerate Fleet Electrification

Catalyze, a Boulder-based independent power producer, made a minority investment in and formed a strategic partnership with Microgrid Labs (MGL) to deliver turnkey fleet electrification planning, implementation, financing and operations across North America. The partnership combines Catalyze’s renewable generation, storage and charging deployment capabilities with MGL’s fleet electrification software and consulting to offer integrated fleet-as-a-service solutions to commercial, industrial and municipal customers.

Catalyze Partners Acquires Axcend, LLC

Catalyze Partners completed the acquisition of Axcend, LLC on July 15, 2024, acquiring the developer of compact, portable HPLC systems to serve as the cornerstone of a new analytical instrumentation platform. The deal positions Catalyze to commercialize Axcend's eco-friendly, portable HPLC products (including the Focus LC) across pharmaceuticals, environmental monitoring, chemical manufacturing and other end markets.

Kelvin Group Acquires PermaCold Engineering

Kelvin Group, a national provider of industrial and commercial mechanical refrigeration services backed by Southfield Capital, has acquired PermaCold Engineering, a Portland-based industrial refrigeration firm. The add-on deal expands Kelvin's geographic footprint into the Pacific Northwest and brings PermaCold's expertise in ammonia and CO2 refrigeration to Kelvin's platform; terms were not disclosed.

Catalyst Acoustics Group Acquires Madrid, Inc.

Catalyst Acoustics Group, a portfolio company of The Stephens Group, acquired the assets of Madrid, Inc., a California-based maker of premium acoustical wood products for architectural ceilings. The add-on expands Catalyst's product capabilities in wood acoustics while Madrid will retain autonomy and gain access to CAG's operational and financial resources.
