Boston-based Turnstone Ventures has acquired the 50-key The Shire Woodstock in Woodstock, Vermont and will operate the property while undertaking a restoration. Turnstone has hired New York-based Life House, a venture-backed hotel brand and management platform, to operate the property — marking Life House's first hotel in Vermont and its 20th in New England.

Medical Properties Trust will continue to own the majority of Springstone's real estate and retain a minority stake; in conjunction with the deal MPT sold a loan and accrued interest (approximately $205 million) to Lifepoint.
