The Riverside Company has acquired Canuti Tradizione Italiana S.r.l., a family-owned producer of frozen filled and non-filled pasta based in Rimini, Italy. The deal is an add-on to Riverside’s existing platform Il Pastaio di Brescia and is intended to expand the platform into the frozen pasta segment and food-service channel while supporting international growth and operational synergies.

Benford Capital Partners Acquires Turri's Italian Foods

Chicago-based private equity firm Benford Capital Partners has acquired Turri's Italian Foods, a Michigan-based maker of IQF (individually quick frozen) pasta and rice. The Turri family will remain in leadership, and Benford plans to invest in production capacity and capabilities while pursuing add-on acquisitions to grow the business.

Turri's Italian Foods, a Fund II portfolio company of Benford Capital Partners, has acquired Joseph's Gourmet Pasta to form a combined frozen pasta, rice and sauce platform serving foodservice, retail and CPG customers. Benford Capital partnered on the transaction; New Mountain Capital participated in acquiring Joseph's real estate assets and Joseph's was acquired from LaSalle Capital.

Concurrently, Ferraro sold its Casa Foods division in Utica, New York back to the legacy Fornino family, transferring the Utica facility and more than 80 employees to local ownership.
